Love Letters To My Black Son is an anthology that is dedicated to Black sons all over the world. Cultures all around the world exude hate and demise for black males through varying racial stereotypes. From every angle they are faced with false statements of how their lives do not matter. Daily we witness hatred through gun violence, police violence, negative imagery, and degrading lyrics. These forms of imagery are reinforced in every form of media. This anthology is designed to change that narrative. Love Letters To My Black Son will feature numerous displays of love for Black sons of all ages told from the mouths of their loved ones.

MEeT JAYLEN
Jaylen is a Black son from the Chicagoland area. He attended high school in the inner city of Chicago. It is in the Chicago streets where he was introduced to the devaluing of Black sons. Jaylen’s mother attempted to keep him involved in activities and surrounded by people that showed him unconditional love. She began to write him love letters as soon as he began reading. As he grew older and the streets grew colder, she realized the Jaylen wasn’t the only Black son that needed love letters.
